Spain World Cup kit
Spain and kit sponsor adidas have heeded FIFA’s demand to produce an ‘emergency’ all-white third kit for this summer’s World Cup. This means La Furia Roja are the only country besides hosts Brazil and Belgium (odd) to enter the tournament with three options in their wardrobe.
The reason for FIFA’s odd request? A concern that fans wouldn’t be able to tell Spain’s all-red kits (as the scheduled home side) apart from Holland’s all-blue uniforms for their Group B fixture on June 13.
Hmmmmm…. red and dark blue. These do appear to be two completely different, distinguishable colors - at least in our eyes. Then again, we are talking about FIFA here, the same organization that thinks it’s a great idea to play a World Cup in Qatar in over 110°F heat. Logic isn’t exactly part of their vocabulary.
