Everyone eyes will be on Glasgow City versus Rangers, 2:30pm at Excelsior Stadium as Rangers who are hot on the heels of both Glasgow City and Hibernian will be looking to cause a top of the table upset. Rangers are without Amy Lindsay after her red card the previous week, Glasgow City’s new recruit Claire Shine has made quite an impact in her first few weeks in Scotland’s top division, after scoring against Spartans in last week’s Scottish Cup will the Irish youngster find her name on the score-sheet again this week?
Hibernian who like Glasgow City are undefeated in their domestic campaign welcome bottom placed Inverness to Albyn Park for a 2pm kick-off. The highlanders who have yet to win a match this season face a tough task on their hands in their final game before the break as the Hibees aim to finish the first half of the season on a high.
Glasgow City, Hibernian, Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen have all confirmed their position within the top six for the second half of the season, however one space is still up for grabs and three teams are in the running; Spartans, Stirling and Hearts. Stirling and Hearts who are both newly promoted to the league this year have had a successful start to their Premier campaign and will be looking to keep pushing towards a coveted top six spot. Stirling face Aberdeen at Stirling University with a 4pm kick-off and over at Kings Park in Dalkeith, 3pm kick-off, Hearts host Spartans in what will be an exciting match. Both clubs will have one eye on the top 6 prize.
Over at Station Park, Forfar Farmington face Hutchison Vale. Forfar will be in high spirits from last weekend’s Scottish Cup win over Hearts and will be hoping that momentum carries into their final game before the split.
The final game of the day kick-offs at 4pm at New Douglas Park where Hamilton Academical welcomes Celtic. Hamilton had a tough start to their campaign however they have recently been grinding out victories over bottom six opposition, will they be able to hold their own against Celtic? The Hoops have come off the back of an overwhelming Scottish Cup victory and will be looking to close the gap on Rangers on third spot.
