Soccer fans watch Spain lose to the Netherlands 5-1 in a World Cup match Friday, June 13, 2014 at 100 Montaditos bar and restaurant in the West Village.

Spain fans looked on in horror as the Netherlands won 5-1.

The pain in Spain was felt mainly in the second half of the game.

And, Ay! Dios Mio! — did it ever hurt!

The reigning World Cup champs were pummeled in their opening match on Friday by the Netherlands, with the flying Dutchmen avenging their loss in the 2010 World Cup final by scoring four unanswered, second-half goals to turn a 1-1 game into a 5-1 rout.

“I’m really angry, ” Carlos Sanc, a 28-year-old financier from Madrid, said at 100 Montaditos restaurant in the West Village. “In my worst nightmare, I didn’t imagine this.”

By the game’s end, the only happy face in the bar belonged to Michael Roumen, 32, an arts administrator from The Hague.
