France took a 2-0 lead into the second leg of their UEFA U-21 Championship qualifying playoff against Sweden, but three goals for the home side in the first 71 minutes of the second leg put Sweden ahead. Finally, in the 87th minute, defender Layvin Kurzawa scored to put the aggregate score at 3-3 with France ahead on the away goal. Convinced that this goal would seal France's place in next year's tournament, Kurzawa mockingly saluted several Sweden players as he celebrated. This proved to be a catastrophic mistake.
JUST ONE MINUTE LATER, perhaps powered by the invisible wrath of Zlatan, Sweden's Oscar Lewicki scored his second goal of the match to restore their lead. Sweden won the second leg 4-1 to confirm a place in the tournament with an aggregate score of 4-3.
