Germany Soccer team Lineup
Five days after a stirring victory at the Netherlands, the U.S. men’s national soccer team on Wednesday stunned world champion Germany, 2-1, in a friendly in Cologne. Once again, German-based Bobby Wood scored the tiebreaking goal in the dying moments.
In last Friday’s 4-3 comeback win in Amsterdam, Wood struck in the 90th minute. This time, it came in the 87th.
The last time the United States defeated FIFA’s top-ranked team: summer of 2009, Spain at the FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.
